Susan K McCorkle's Obituary
Susan K. McCorkle (nee Johnson), aged 80, of Palm Coast, Florida, died at Stewart F. Meyers Hospice from Alzheimer's disease on April 10, 2026. She was born September 9, 1945 in Clinton County, Indiana to Theodore Kercheval Johnson and Ina Dainise Cline. Susan, better known as Susie at the time, graduated from Morley Stanwood Community Schools and attended Western Michigan University and Davenport University. She worked for several years at Jody's Restaurant in Rockford, Michigan baking their famous cinnamon rolls. Her later career was spent as an administrative assistant before retiring. Susan loved to sew and was a lifelong seamstress who delighted in creating garments for her family and friends.
Susan was preceded in death by both of her parents; siblings Emma Jane Goodnight, Bill Johnson, Jim Johnson, Shirley Baker, and Steve Johnson; and son Eric Meissner. She is survived by her husband, Jim McCorkle; siblings Gene Phillip Johnson (Ajae) and Mary Ghareeb (Archie); son Mark Meissner; son Matt Meissner (Tara Meissner); daughter Dainise Meissner (Jake Barnes); grandchildren Mark Meissner, Jr., Kyle Meissner, Brett Meissner, Naomi Meissner, and Eris Meissner; stepsons Michael McCorkle, Tim McCorkle, and John Mark McCorkle, and their families; and numerous nieces and nephews.
