Suzanne Butts Chandler's Obituary
Suzanne Butts Chandler
Suzanne Butts Chandler, May 26, 1961 - July 17, 2013. After a long illness Suzanne went to be with Jesus. Born in Daytona Beach, she was the daughter of Hal & Jeanne Butts, who survive her; granddaughter of Eileen and Harold Butts of Ormond Beach and Sophie and Charles Kagels of St. Louis, MO, who preceded her in death.
She leaves two sons, Jordan of Daytona Beach and Everette of Black Mountain, NC.
She is also survived by her three sisters and brothers-in-law: Pam and Randy Malchow and Hallie and Sam Saunders of Black Mountain, NC; Kippy and Marc Hanson of Maple Park, ILL; nine nieces and nephews; and a great-niece and nephew.
Suzanne grew up in Newport Beach, CA and graduated from Corona del Mar High School, where she stayed in contact with her fellow graduates all her life. She graduated from Stephens College, Columbia, MO and attended the University of Missouri for three years. Her loves were her parents, sisters, sons and nieces and nephews. She sent greeting cards to everyone on any special occasion, often arriving several weeks before. She also loved the beach in Daytona, and walked there daily when her health allowed. She also maintained a very special relationship with Kyle Turner of Macon, GA, and recently with Greg and Jackie Lewis who were her live-in caregivers during her final days. Another special blessing was her Godmother, Patty Alexander and her Aunt, Elaine Butts, who stayed with her around the clock until her extended family gathered to be with her until the end.
A Memorial Service is to be held at The Ormond Memorial Art Museum at the Gazebo, co-founded by her paternal grandmother, Eileen Butts, at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 78 E. Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach. The Rev. Ken Ali officiating.
