Tawnya S Kissel's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tawnya Star Kissel, beloved mother, wife, friend and colleague. Tawnya passed away peacefully on May 10, 2023 at 8pm, surrounded by her loving family.
Tawnya was born on May 11, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan. She had a deep love for her family and a passion for making connections with others. Tawnya was a devoted mother to Trisha Vargo and Tiffany Beckerleg. She was also a bonus mother to Stacy, Heather, Erik, Heidi, and Erin. She was a doting grandmother to Desmond, Ivy, and Logan along with all her bonus grandchildren and a wonderful little sister to Kenny and John.
Tawnya was married to Kevin Kissel for 34 beautiful years, and their love was evident in everything they did. She was a dedicated wife and partner who supported Kevin through thick and thin, and their love story was an inspiration to all who knew them.
During Michigan Summers, you would find Tawnya acting as First Mate on her and Kevin's boat. Boating was a passion for both of them. For work, Tawnya had a very successful sales career in the automotive parts industry. It is here that she met some of her favorite people.
Tawnya had a contagious spirit that touched the lives of everyone she met. She had an uncanny ability to make friends with anyone, and her infectious personality and warm smile endeared her to all. Tawnya was a kind, compassionate, and loving person, and her legacy of kindness and compassion will live on in the hearts of so many.
Tawnya was a true force of nature, and her passing has left a void in the lives of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, and friend. Tawnya is survived by her two brothers Kenny and John and her Aunt Marion.
