Thomas C. Faltz's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Thomas Charles Faltz, Sr. on September 12, 2023 in Palm Coast, Florida. Tom was surrounded by his two children, Christine Jordan and Tom Faltz, Jr., when he went peacefully to his heavenly home.
Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1945, Tom continued to live in the Milwaukee area until the mid-1970s when he and his children moved to Mequon. He remained in Ozaukee County until he retired to Florida in 2015. A kind and compassionate man, Tom led a simple but fulfilling life built on a strong foundation of Catholic faith, family and friends. As a younger man, he enjoyed playing softball, basketball and golf, and he always loved watching his favorite Wisconsin collegiate and professional sports teams play. He was a diehard Packers fan and was able to catch their first game of the season – and a winning game at that – just before he passed.
Tom is survived by his daughter Christine and son-in-law Joe, as well as his son Tom, daughter-in-law Stacie and their two children, Kristen and Ryan. He was welcomed to Heaven by family members who preceded him in death, including his parents, Gertrude and Otto Faltz, and siblings Gary Faltz and Nancy Messal.
Tom was blessed to have lifelong friendships with a group of men he loved like brothers: Bob Johnson, Mike Woznick, Jim Holton and Mike DeMarco. For over 40 years, these men remained a close-knit group – celebrating, inspiring and supporting one another through friendship and faith. Tom was blessed to have many other friends in his life as well. While we can’t name them all, we would like to mention the special friendships he forged with Mike and Charlene Watry of Port Washington and, in Florida, Larry and Ana at Willow Pond, and Grand Villa Palm Coast residents Carolyn, Jeff and Nate. While all the Grand Villa staff was friendly and caring, he was especially fond of Maureen (“Moe”) and Ruth, a young woman who served him meals daily and called Tom “such a nice gentleman!”
This gentle giant of a man made an impact on so many people’s lives, but especially the lives of his children. Tom was an incredible father who taught Christine and Tom the importance of faith, family and values. He showed them unconditional love and support and helped them become the people they are today.
Tom’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to three special nurses at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. To Mary and Jessica, thank you for your care and kindness when Tom was brought to hospice and, to Kathy, we will always be grateful for the incredible compassion, dignity and respect you showed Tom during his last hours. You are all angels!
