Vernesa Mella
Vernesa Mella, 78, of Palm Coast, FL passed away on November 5, 2012 at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House in Palm Coast, FL after a long illness. She was born on October 3, 1934 in Yeagerstown, PA to the late Harry and Mildred Clark nee Stimeley.
Vernesa was a graduate of the Torrington High School in Torrington, CT, and worked as an office manager for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Torrington, CT and was the past Regional Director of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of Northwest Connecticut.
Vernesa is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Charles Mella of Palm Coast, FL. a Daughter, Christine Carlson and husband Michael of Winchester, CT. a Son, David Mella and wife Deb of Windsor, CT. Brothers, Harry Clark Jr. and wife Bea of Palm Coast, FL, and Donald Clark and wife Florence of Cocoa Beach, FL. Five grandchildren, Jeffrey Carlson and wife Nanaz, Jonathon Carlson and partner Jillian, Erin Pepin and husband Kevin, Jodi Okenquist, and Eric Okenquist. Four great grandchildren, Bennett, Reise, Kennedy, and Julia, whom she loved very much along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Vernesa and Charlie loved traveling and cruising over the years with Alaska, Hawaii, and the Caribbean being some of their favorite destinations.
A celebration of her life will be held at the family convenience.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Vernesa to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter, 659 Tower Ave., 1st Floor, Hartford, CT 06112.
All arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Cremation and Memorial Chapel, Port Orange, FL.
