Victor Martin Eskenazi's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Victor Martin Eskenazi
Victor Martin Eskenazi, aged 66, passed away on January 19, 2024, at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, Florida. Born on July 2, 1957, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Isaac and Francine Eskenazi, Victor's journey through life was marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering commitment to his family.
The Eskenazi family later relocated to Pompano Beach, Florida, where Victor graduated from Pompano High. From a young age, he discovered his passion for cooking, eventually becoming the esteemed head chef at The Cape Codder Hotel in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Victor's culinary expertise and dedication to his craft were evident throughout his years in the kitchen.
After his marriage, Victor made the decision to prioritize family over frequent travels. He transitioned his career, working as a route driver for 7UP in South Florida before owning his Salty Snacks route with Wise, a role he fulfilled for an impressive 25 years. In a brief semi-retirement, Victor cherished precious moments with his grandson, creating an unbreakable bond between them.
Later, Victor took on a role with the US Postal Service as a dedicated mail carrier, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues. Known for his strong work ethic and willingness to assist others, Victor Eskenazi was a beloved figure in his professional and personal life.
Family always came first for Victor, exemplifying love, care, and a readiness to support his loved ones. His grandson, Grayson Hairston, held a special place in his heart, and the two shared countless joyful moments, from building Legos to attending flag football practices.
Victor's interests ranged from a love for the ocean, fishing, and cruises to weekly poker nights with friends. However, his greatest joy was found in the simple pleasures of being at home with his wife, Janet, daughter Michelle Brereton, and grandson Grayson. Whether watching TV, engaging in Nerf battles, swimming, or playing hide-n-seek, Victor was the epitome of a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Victor Martin Eskenazi was preceded in death by his mother Francine, father Isaac Eskenazi, and granddaughter Dakota Rayne Hairston. He is survived by his devoted wife, Janet Eskenazi, daughter Michelle Brereton, grandson Grayson Hairston, and brothers Howard and Charles Eskenazi.
