Vida E. Niles' Obituary
Vida E. Niles (Harmon) of Ormond Beach, FL passed away on September 6, 2015 at the age of 98 in Ormond Beach, FL.; Vi was born in Fitzwilliam, NH on October 20, 1916.
Vi lived in St. Augustine, FL for 13 years and enjoyed being an active member of Council on Aging. While Vi was living with her daughter she became surrogate mom to so many loving friends. They were such a wonderful part of her life and to them; Vi was “one of a kind.” She was married to the former Harold D. Harmon, Sr. for 26 years. Vi and Harold brought their family to and spent many years in Ludlow, VT. Vi was also married to Paul Niles for 36 years and they spent 13 years living in Ft. Pierce, FL. Vi was the oldest of four brothers and one sister, all of whom predeceased her.
Vi was a very loving mother, friend, grandmother and great grandmother who loved life and all that came her way. She was very talented in all facets of life, particularly enjoying the arts; hobbies included quilling, crafts, bowling, golfing, Bingo, playing cards, and just having fun.
She leaves behind her son H. Douglas Harmon his wife Gwen, loving daughter Diann (Richardello) Harmon. She also leaves four grandchildren, Todd Richardello, his wife Esther and Taryn Richardello, Scott Harmon and Tara (Harmon) Nelson & her husband Joe. She also leaves behind seven great grandchildren with one on the way, Robert-Claude (RC) Richardello, Garrett Richardello, Logan Richardello, Adam Richardello, Sarah Richardello, Kade & Cole Nelson.
A celebration of her life and reception will be held 17 October 2015, at 2pm. at St. Mark’s by the Sea Lutheran Church, 303 Palm Coast Parkway N.E. On 20 November, 2015, a small graveside service will be held at 2pm.in Bennington Park Lawn Cemetery, 10 South St. Bennington, VT. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to the Council on Aging in St. Augustine, FL.
Arrangements are under the care of Heritage Funeral & Cremation Service, Flagler County, FL.
