William Harley “Bill” Large
January 17, 1943 – November 30, 2025
William Harley Large, known lovingly as Bill, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, in Palm Coast, Florida, at the age of 82. Born on January 17, 1943, in Defiance, Ohio, Bill was the son of Claire Large and William Large, who instilled in him the values of hard work, humility, and service.
A proud American patriot, Bill honorably served his country in the United States Navy from July 5, 1966, to February 24, 1972. During the Vietnam War, he served with distinction as a Plane Captain aboard the USS America (CV-66), ensuring the readiness and safety of the aircraft and crews who depended on him.
On July 6, 1981, Bill married the love of his life, Delores Large, with whom he shared a devoted partnership until her passing on July 10, 2016. With their marriage, Bill also became a loving step-father to six children, embracing his new family with generosity, patience, and unwavering devotion.
Bill is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delores.
He is survived by his children:

Granddaughters: Christy Alan, Stephanie Mills, Dawn Larson, Mary Mills, Megan Mills, Heather Cruces, Jamie Boone, Hailey Mills
Bill is also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren, each carrying forward his spirit and strength.
Bill will be laid to rest with full military honors at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, FL, at a date to be determined.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him—family, friends, and those whose lives he touched through his dedication, loyalty, and quiet generosity. His legacy of service and love endures.
