William Edgar Stark's Obituary
With saddened hearts, we announce the passing of William (Bill) Edgar Stark, 73, of Ormond Beach, Florida. He was born on October 4, 1949 in Decatur, Illinois to the late Edgar and Goldie Stark. William passed away on May 15, 2023 at the Coquina Center.
Bill was raised and educated in Decatur and graduated from Illinois State University after earning a bachelor’s degree in education.
Bill was an avid fisherman and golfer. In his early years, he was active in Mt. Zion youth baseball as a coach for the farm and traveling teams. He was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and loved his dogs Mac and Layla. Bill retired from Caterpillar Inc. where he held various positions and attained the rank of six sigma black belt. Bill was very funny with his quick wit and dry humor.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sister Norma Bergin; grandson Cameron Stark.
Bill is survived by his wife, Mary K of Ormond Beach, Florida; sons Brad Stark of Mt. Zion, IL, Wes (Traci) Stark of Springboro, OH; grandchildren Brittany Stark, Sydney Stark and Mia Stark; his 3 sisters Sharon S. Speasl, Delores Stark and Judy S. McConkey; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
