William Thomas Swafford's Obituary
Having lived a life full of love and adoration, William Thomas Swafford, age 69, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 in St. Augustine, Florida. He was born on October 1, 1953 in Petersburg, Virginia to Floyd Swafford Jr. and Lois M. Swafford. William was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in April of 1966 and he served Jehovah God joyfully and faithfully until his passing. William married his loving and loyal wife of 50 years, Lynn, on April 15, 1972 in Richmond Virginia. They moved to Florida the same year they married and relocated to the Daytona Beach area in 1974. He retired from Baylor Construction where he worked for more than 25 years as a Senior Estimator. Together, William and Lynn had four children who William cherished very deeply. He also loved his grandchildren very much and his entire family. He was proud of his family and often would be most content just being surrounded by them, enjoying a meal he had prepared.
His hobbies included cooking for his friends and family, enjoying music, model cars, fishing and spending time near the ocean. William chose to live his life in service to Jehovah God and was proud to be one of his Witnesses. He looked for every opportunity to honor his creator through his actions. He met and gained endless friends in his life as he was a good and loyal friend who always went out of his way to do kind things for others and make them feel welcome, friends both old and new. He had a great sense of humor and often had others laughing. He was truly adored and will be deeply missed by his loved ones and those who had the opportunity to know him. Because of his strong faith William firmly believed in Jehovah God's promise of a resurrection.
He is preceded in death by his father, Floyd Swafford, Jr. He is survived by his wife Lynn M. Swafford, his children, Kelli (BJ) Patton, Leslie Swafford, Andrew Swafford and Adam Swafford, his grandchildren, Kara Swafford and Matt Logue, his mother, Lois M. Brooks, his sisters Robin Newman and Beverly Williams, his brother, Michael Swafford and many nieces and nephews he truly cared for.
