Often times God places people in your presence that may or may not have an impact, and less often he places gems. Anita was indeed one of those gems that was placed in my life. I had the pleasure of working with her for many years in Flagler. She took great pride in her job and was always willing
on going above and beyond the scope of her duties at work.
She is one of the most selfless individuals I’ve gotten the chance to work beside. Countless times I’ve witnessed Anita bring clothes for patients that didn’t have clothes. I remember her raising money for another coworker that couldn’t afford a flight ticket to see their sick child in OH.
She was a great storyteller. I found every story she would tell intriguing. A few of many that comes to mind include stories of how intelligent her dad was; how strong her mom was in raising and looking after the family; getting out of a pickle in Germany because she was very fluent in the language and she was admired by the natives for being able to speak so well; meeting her husband; coming to the states for the first time and being overwhelmed.
If there was a good prank to be carried out, I could always count on Anita to keep a straight face and not break. She was hilarious. I remember her doing impressions of how different co workers walked. The team would have to “tone it down” because we would cry laughing at her.
She was a great cook. I remember her bringing so many European dishes for us to try, and I thought they were all delicious even the ones with beans which she practically forced me to eat :).
Finally, she loved her family with every ounce of her soul. She spoke of how supportive Rick is, and how he was the perfect role model for Stephanie and Donna. She spoke of how proud she was of her two daughters as
Well as the love she had for both her son-in-laws. She mentioned how intelligent and sweet Marissa and Bella were and how sad she felt when Sean went off to the military but how proud she was to see him transform in a young man.
To the family, you are in my family’s thoughts and prayers. I wished Id known her longer than 7 years. Nonetheless, she was placed in my life at a perfect time. She will be missed greatly. Know that the ones we love will never die but live forever in our hearts.
