It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Douglas Roy Heishman (Doug), 59, of Palm Coast, Florida on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Doug died peacefully after his courageous battle with cancer with his wife and beloved do Read Obituary
Just this past weekend, I ran into one of the employees from the Finance Department at Wellspan, and as we were reminiscing, I began to ask how everyone was doing and it was then I learned of Doug's passing. I previously worked in the Finance Dept, and it was always a pleasure when I encountered Doug, he was always friendly and kind. Heaven has truly gained a great guy. Doug is resting in paradise and my prayers will always be with his family.
Met Doug at the gun club we belong Became pretty close friends we shot together in a lot of different places etc. etc. Doug was a great guy he is going to be missed and is missed buy the gun clubs to,
I was so very saddened to hear about Doug. We worked together at WellSpan for many years. He always was so supportive of the clinical work, particularly the nursing department. He was a pleasure to work with. I always held him in high regard because he truly had the patient’s best interest at heart. I felt that Doug was a real human being that wanted the do the right thing. Doug will be missed by many people that truly appreciated his work and his kindness. I am glad to have had the opportunity to work with him. He made the world a better place.

I have known Doug since he began his career at Wellspan both as a colleague and as a friend during that time. When my office was located at York Hospital and Doug's office was in the Ketterman building, we worked together on the cost accounting for the behavioral health service line of which I was the administrative director at the time. We had many lunches together at the York Hospital cafeteria where we could relax and just enjoy each other's company along with other colleagues. I can still remember his laughter and smile. It was our quality time in between many hours of hard work. Doug and his lovely wife Holly also lived in our neighborhood. I believe it was their first home after getting married. My boys were very young at the time and fascinated with Doug and Holly's dogs. I recall one occasion when Doug and Holly invited us over for dinner and we had an enjoyable evening of stories and laughter. When I started Quest for Wellspan and their partner health systems, my office was relocated off campus and Doug and I lost touch as we were both busy with our respective job duties. I always regretted that and even moreso now.

We loved seeing Doug, Holly and the 2 dogs riding down the street in the golf cart, a family enjoying every moment together. Doug was always smiling and had a kind word for everyone he spoke to. His beautiful wife Holly tended to his every need during his illness and was a tower of strength. He will be missed but his memory will always make us smile. Sending prayers of comfort & love to Holly and the family.🙏❤️🙏
Anyone who knew Doug is grieving his loss. i knew him for probably 20 years at WellSpan, and he was always kind, compassionate and yes, always smiling. To Holly and the rest of his family, I am so very sorry for your loss. May your memories bring you peace.
