Douglas R. Heishman's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Douglas Roy Heishman (Doug), 59, of Palm Coast, Florida on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Doug died peacefully after his courageous battle with cancer with his wife and beloved dogs by his side.
Doug was born December 11, 1961 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania to the late Gerald Heishman and the late Miiko Heishman (Nakazawa).
Doug is survived by his beloved wife Holly of 29 years; sister, Elizabeth Mulherin (James), Malvern, Pennsylvania; Holly’s parents, Terry and Debra Lenker, Wiconisco, Pennsylvania; sisters-in-law, Hilary Lenker, Tower City, Pennsylvania, Heidi Barry (Jonathan), Lebanon, Pennsylvania; niece, Elizabeth Fizz (Alex), Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania; nephews, James Mulhern (Heidi), West Chester, Pennsylvania, Collin Barry, Jonestown, Pennsylvania, Austin Barry (Shantell), Durham, North Carolina, Mason Evans, Tower City, Pennsylvania, Brady Evans, Tower City, Pennsylvania; great nieces and nephews and many amazing friends and family.
Doug graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree and earned his master’s degree at York College. He began his career at Coopers & Lybrand, then spent 31 years with Wellspan Health in York, Pennsylvania holding several positions most recently Vice President, Financial Planning and Professional Services. Doug was a member and served on the board of several healthcare organizations including HFMA and Family First Health.
Doug, Holly and their beloved dogs, Bella and Beau, enjoyed many outdoor activities. Some of their favorites were riding bicycles, hiking, long walks on the beach and going for golf cart rides. He also enjoyed sporting clay, trap and target shooting with family and friends.
Due to Covid, Doug's family will be postponing his celebration of life service. A new time, date, and location will be announced in the comings weeks. Thank you for your understanding.
