Dr. Eric Maurice Jump D.O.'s Obituary
Dr. Eric Jump went to his rest on January 10, 2026. He practiced pediatrics in Palatka, FL for 34 years. With his partner, Dr. Laura Hoss, and her husband, Owen Rosenberg, practice manager, he established Kids’ Care Pediatrics (1990-2020). From 1986-1990, he worked at the Public Health Clinic in Palatka.
Dr. Jump was born in Ft. Wayne, IN on May 9, 1950, son of George Jump and Valetha Samantha Johnson and grew up in Palm Springs, CA and Guam. He did his undergraduate work at the University of Guam, received his Master of Public Health degree at Loma Linda University, CA, and a Doctor of Osteopathy degree at the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, MO.
His compassion, love and concern for his patients touched everything he did, and he was always their advocate.
He is survived by his beloved partner/husband of 50 years, musician and composer Peter Mathews; by his loving sisters, Tamara Hayden, Tanya Jump and Sheri Clark, and by his nephew, Tregg, and four nieces, Holly, Courtney, Nicole and Lauren.
