We are so sorry to hear about Gene's passing. I didn't know him well but I know most of your beautiful family and appreciate the loving place your children grew up in. Patti is one of my most treasured friends and her father was a positive, loving influence on her life. Keep close the special memories and rejoice that he is no longer suffering and with God.
We have many happy memories of the Gerstler family. Jim still talks about smelt dipping with Gene. We were so sorry to read that he had passed. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I remember Eugene well. He lived down the street from my family when in Jr high and high school. My father and Uncle owned the fefferson market across from Bach school and my grand mother lived next door in a small little house. He also was a cousin of my cousin Carol. I also live in Fl now on the west coast. I want to send my deepest sympathy the the entire family may the words in the Bible give you much comfort. Rev: 21 vs 3 & 4 is a promise that God made to us.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Jean. My sympathy to you and to all the rest of your family. My prayers are with you all during this time of adjustment. I wish I were able to attend the celebration of Gene's life in Michigan, but that will not be possible. I will certainly be there in spirit. Maybe we can meet next year in July. I have known the " old pair of jeans" since before they were married. They were a wonderful example for all their friends and family. Gene will be missed by all of us.
