Herman A Greene's Obituary
On Monday January 18, 2021, Herman Greene, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away at the age of 91.
Herman was born on March 28, 1929 in Rockingham, North Carolina to Ed and Janie Greene. He married Sally Davis Krause on September 8, 1967. Herman had two children, Philip and Barbara, and raised Michael, Pamela and David as his own.
Herman was a 32nd degree Mason and was also a Shriner who participated in the Motor Corps, donating his time and talents to helping promote the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital. As a younger man, Herman served as a Deputy Sheriff in Michigan.
He loved old cars and working with his hands with the ability to repair anything. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter in his day, and surf fisherman with a true respect and understanding of nature. He loved all animals and could pick up the tiniest of seed, twig or leaf and tell you everything about it. He had an affinity for the perfect lawn and landscape, being the envy of his neighbors.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Janie Greene, son David Krause, brothers William and Ray and his sister Edith.
He is survived by his wife Sally, children, Phillip (Vickie) Greene, Michael (Debra) Krause, Barbara (Larry) Bell, Pamela (Gary) Ferch; his sisters Evelyn Covington, Dorothy Brady and Mary Gathings; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
