Ms. Joyce Marie Leach, lovingly known for her joy, laughter, and radiant spirit, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, in Palm Coast, Florida. Born on September 17, 1940, in Washington, D.C., to Rachel Wilson and Frank Williams. Joyce’s life was a beautiful journey marked by resilience, compassion, and unwavering love for others.
Raised in Bethel, North Carolina, Joyce later embraced the vibrant energy of Brooklyn, New York, where she built her life, raised her family, and began her long career in service to others. She dedicated 21 years to the National Association of Social Workers, touching countless lives with her empathy and steady guidance. She later spent 11 years with Citibank, retiring in 1998. That same year, she began a new chapter in Palm Coast, Florida—one filled with sunshine, friendships, and family.
Joyce was a woman of deep faith. She began studying as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on April 19, 1999, and symbolized her dedication to Jehovah on July 15, 2000. Her faith brought her peace, purpose, and a loving spiritual family she cherished dearly.
A joyful traveler, an avid reader, and a natural comedian, Joyce brought brightness wherever she went. She was selfless, considerate, accommodating, and always ready to make someone smile. To know her was to love her, and her presence—warm, humorous, and uplifting—became a cherished light in the lives of many.
Joyce is survived by her devoted daughter, Francine Boykin of Palm Coast, FL, and her loving son, Gentris Bryant (Cynthia) of Virginia Beach, VA. She leaves behind her treasured grandchildren: Shakir Terry of Leesburg, FL; Gentris Bryant Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA; and Nikisha Cox (Steven) of Suffolk, VA. Her great-grandchildren, Sa'Rayah Cox and Dallas Cox, also carry forward her legacy of love and joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rachel Wilson and Frank Williams, and her siblings, Frank Williams Jr. and Mary Francis Williams.
A woman surrounded by friends, family, and a community that loved her deeply, Joyce will be remembered as a beam of light—joyful, humorous, and endlessly loving. Her memory will continue to shine in every story shared, every laugh remembered, and every life she touched.
