Jose Roman
First, I want to express my deepest condolences to my aunt Laura, all my cousins, and the entire family. Today we have all lost a great man.
Although the distance didn't allow us to spend as much time together as we would have liked, whenever my uncle and I were together, we had a real connection. I always felt we had a lot in common, something he expressed to me himself in our conversations; deep talks filled with lessons, experiences, and realities. For all that and more, he will always have my respect and my deepest admiration.
I can say that he was always there for me and my parents. The fact that he and Aunt Laura always told me that 'I had a room in their house' gave me the certainty that I always had a place in their hearts.
May he rest in peace. He fulfilled with honor his role as a husband, father, son, uncle, brother, and human being; a task that is not easy and that not everyone manages to master. I keep that great legacy with me and I thank God for having had him in my life.
Now, all that remains is to ask the Lord to grant us strength, direction, purpose, and peace, recognizing and trusting fully that God is in control of everything. Sending a very big hug to the whole family from a distance."
