Leonard Greene
Leonard Greene, age 83, of Ormond Beach, FL, passed away on December 18, 2012, in Ormond Beach, FL. He was born December 19, 1928 in Kerhonkson, NY. Leonard moved to Orlando, FL in 1959 with his wife Adeline.
He was an accomplished welder and worked on the Apollo Space Program at Cape Canaveral and later for Walt Disney World, where he retired after 21 years of service. Leonard enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. He also loved to cook for family and friends.
Leonard is survived by his wife of 7 years, Margaret (Madge); his 5 sons and their wives, Terry & Renee, Robert & Sheryl, Thomas & Penny, Kenneth & Ali, and Doran & Elizabeth; stepdaughter and husband Donna & Frank Trane; 17 loving grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 4:00 pm from the chapel of Heritage Funeral & Cremation Service, 620 Dunlawton Ave. Port Orange, FL 32127. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until time of services at 4:00 PM. Inurnment will be in the Greene family plot in Pinebush Cemetery, Kerhonkson, NY in the Spring of 2013.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leonard’s memory to the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, Farris Bryant Building, 620 S. Meridian St, Tallahassee, FL 32399, or a charity of your choice.
All services are under the direction of Heritage Funeral & Cremation Service, Port Orange, FL.
