Lorenz "Larry" H. Bockelman
Lorenz "Larry" H. Bockelman, age 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Ormond Beach, FL., on Thursday, November 22, 2012. He was born in Alma, Missouri, on November 6, 1922, to Louis & Hulda Bockelman. He moved from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Titusville, Florida in 1974.
Larry served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Force 1941-1948. He was retired from Fisher Body Div., General Motors and Scotty’s Hardware & Builders Supply. He also worked part-time with Publix for 10 years. He volunteered with the Ombudsman Program of the Florida Dept. Of Elder Affairs, Ormond Beach Police Department as a Community Volunteer and was a member of the Ormond Beach, Elks; lifetime member of the DAV and Scottish Rite of the Valley of Orlando; member of Indian River Masonic Lodge #90, Titusville, FL and past member of the Morocco Shrine Temple, Jacksonville, FL.
Larry loved to read, play cards, especially play dominoes, dance and golf. He was a great sports fan and loved to watch his Pittsburgh Steelers and the PGA TOUR Golf Tournaments.
He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Martha; loving children that have been so much a happy part of his life; Bud (Joy) Bockelman; Dina (Lance) Justis; Dona (Jeff) DeBonis; step-children David Eyrolles; Bob (Charlene) Eyrolles; Dale (Lisa) Eyrolles; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; his sisters Naomi (Guindal) Foster, Warsaw, MO; Juanita Trigg, Concordia, MO; brothers Melvin (Harriet) Bockelman, Concordia, MO; Louis (Van) Bockelman, Kansas City, MO; Mark (Glenda) Bockelman, York Springs, PA.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Verna Meyer; grandson, Jason Eyrolles; brothers-in-law Ray Meyer and Pete Trigg.
Services are private and will be held at a later date.
