Marian Yvette Howell's Obituary
Marian Yvette Howell, 69, of Palm Coast, Florida, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House.
Marian was born October 18, 1954 in Passaic, New Jersey to the late Dolores Jones Marshall and the late Lloyd Marshall, Sr. Following her 1973 graduation from Passaic High School, Marian successfully pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology at Ramapo College. She further advanced her educational endeavors in 1998 with a Master of Science in Human Resources from Central Michigan University.
After matriculation, Marian worked for IBM as a human resource partner. Among her responsibilities were diversity, equity and inclusion. She later worked in a similar capacity at Lockheed Martin Aircraft until retirement. Marian was passionate about her job and loved what she did for a living. Still, family was primary in her life. In 1973, she met Charles I. Howell. Marian and Charles went on to have two beautiful children, Charles Damon Howell and Regina Howell. Marian’s babies meant the absolute world to her.
Marian was known for her intellect, her community involvement, and her ability to galvanize individuals to utilize their skills for the wellbeing of others. She was an active member of the Flagler County Branch of the NAACP, and she volunteered for the Flagler County Democratic Party. She also volunteered at her local Humane Society. Most of all, Marian will be remembered for her love of family. No stranger to the kitchen, Marian loved to cook and entertain. She easily made everyone feel like family, even those she met for the first time. Marian absolutely adored her four grandchildren and cherished every moment she was able to spend with them. She coined the phrase “Love You Infinity” to always let her loved ones know just how much she cared.
Marian was predeceased by her mother and father; brother, Lloyd Marshall Jr; grandmother, Geneva Jones; grandfather, Link Jones; and uncle, Ronald Jones, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Charles Damon (Koya) Howell and Regina E. Howell; grandchildren, Keyarah, Keianah, Kameron, and Kassidy Howell; sisters, Jennifer Jones-Foster, Terry Marshall, and Elaine Marshall; her chosen sister, Blanche Valentine; goddaughter and 2nd great niece, Natasha M. Richardson ; godsons, Joshon Troutman, Jr and Jahmorion Troutman; and a host of additional nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
