Alan And Annie Zaret
My favorite Nan story...Nan was so kind and generous that it was always a challenge to pay for a meal when we were out. About a dozen years ago, we came down and had lunch at a restaurant near the Kennedy Space Center and I was obsessed on making sure that Nan would not put her hand in her pocket. I spoke to both the hostess and server and made sure that they would bring the bill to me and that I was sitting at the head of the table just to the left of Nan.
The server had the check on the small tray and was smiling as she headed in my direction, which was behind Nan's back. She was within a step of handing me the tray, when Nan reaches up BEHIND HER BACK AND WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE SERVER and blindly snatches the tray with her left hand, puts her credit card ( where did THAT come from?) on the tray and within a second hands it back to the server and smiles!
Our jaws dropped in amazement. We've always wondered how she pulled that off!
My Aunt Nan was not only kind and generous, but magical as well!
And wonderful. We will miss her dearly.
