Raymond C Jakubielski's Obituary
Raymond (aka Jake) C Jakubielski, 77, passed away on April 9, 2024, in Ormond Beach, Florida. Born May 8,1946 in Norwich CT to Catherine (Peterson) and Christopher Jakubielski who lived in Taftville, CT. In later years he lived his life in Palm Coast, Fl through winters and Stonington, CT during the summers.
Jake joined the Navy in 1963 stationed on the Aircraft Carrier USS Roosevelt though 1969 as a radar technician. During that time, he traveled throughout the world including shores of Vietnam during the war. October 5,1968 he married Linda (Rose) Jakubielski having 2 children, Clinton Jakubielski and Misty (Jakubielski) Shumate. In later years he met his beloved wife Susan Tulli whom he married August 14,1982 sharing 41 years of wonderful marriage. Jake asked her son Joe Tulli for his permission to marry his mother and later became a father to him. He was an electrician by trade for various companies then went on to retire from being a Locksmith for Connecticut Department of Corrections in various facilities.
For anyone who knew Jake, he had to stay busy building so many great things and always had a new project in mind. If it was broke, Jake would find a way to fix it! He loved Fishing, whether it be Ocean or Freshwater with his co-captain Susan and sharing that time with his Walkers Dock Friends and Family. He was a hunter, trapper, competitive skeet shooter. Jakes love for music was shared with so many friends and family along the way through singing and playing the spoons. A Grandfather who was tough but truly loved his 7 Grandsons sharing knowledge of fishing, working, life lessons and family history, tips and tricks and how to have fun and celebrate.
He was preceded in death by his mother Catherine Jakubielski, father Christopher Jakubielski, and sister Christine Comeau.
Jake is survived by his wife Susan Jakubielski, children Clinton Jakubielski (AnnMarie McGrath) of Norwich, CT, Misty Shumate (Kevin), and Joseph Tulli of East Lyme, CT. 7 grandsons, Daniel, Cody, Liam (Emily), Ryan, Aidan, Amadeus, and Mark. 2 great grandchildren, Lukas and Isla. His Cousin Larry (aka Jake) Jakubielski (Ann), Brother-in-Law Michael Haggerty and his best half Kathy Steffens who were both referred to as brothers from another mother!
There will be 2 Celebrations of life for Jake. The first will be held May 19th Honors Ceremony at 11:00am Veterans Park Flagler Beach, FL followed by Celebration of Life at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Bunnell, Fl. The second will be Held this summer in Connecticut (Date TBD).
