I would spend most summers with Bill “Popeye” and Carol “Mimi. Which also landed at the time of their anniversary. I would always set up a date night in their backyard and try to do something special every time I was there.

I have countless memories of going to the beach, the lake, road-trips and them both making it out to to see me perform and when I graduated high school and college. Bill was an amazing support system for me growing up. He will be truly missed and he helped mold me into who I am today. Love you forever Popeye ❤️

Love the feeling when remembering Uncle Bill because he always (generalization fully intended) had a gentleness in his eyes.

Bill's voice had a resonance that I gravitated towards as it reminds me of another past family member that positively influenced me.

His laugh stood out in the room and I knew Sam Elliott was nearby.

I am grateful for the times we shared and realize there could have been more meaningful ones.

When I think of Bill … I see his smile and hear his warm voice. I will miss his hugs.

I am not a fan of goodbyes … so … see ya on the flip when we embrace for more hugs, laughs, and good times together.

While we didn't get to spend too many times together with Bill, I will always treasure the memories we do have. The family reunion gatherings stand out as some of the best and Bill was always fun to have conversations with. Bill will always be missed and never be forgotten. RIP XO

I am so glad we had Carol and Bill in Virginia for as many years as we did! The family vacations, the family gatherings at our home, the laughter and joy of your wedding in our back yard surrounded by family😍
One memory that always makes me smile was at our Leesburg 4th of July parade… I noticed a local photographer looking at you, so I told him you were my brother in law and the younger brother to the actor Sam Elliott 😂. You almost killed me 🤣
You always enjoyed watching as our grandchildren were growing up, and they all loved you. I remember reminding you this past October how they would always wave and yell “ we lub you , Uncle Bill” when they left 😍
You touched so many lives!! We were blessed to have you in ours!! You will be missed, sweet man! Travel well ❤️

Bill would be in Dallas visiting Carol before they went off to Florida, the first time, before Virginia. We’d play golf and go to the 19th hole for too much fun. We got kicked out of the clubhouse after finishing a bottle of Crown Royal at one club, I’ve not been back since.

I met Bill just before he married my sister Carol in my twin sister's backyard. One of the most interesting things we did together was go on the 4th of July dinner cruise on the Potomac ending with the fireworks expedition at the Lincoln Memorial. It was a wonderful time and an unforgettable event.
